Eyes on the prize …

Local farmer, Stephen Melville, is taking on a monster challenge next week, raising funds on behalf of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to help support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Starting on Monday (9th March), he will be striving to cycle almost 850 miles over 5 days from Dundee to Dublin.

Stephen, who owns St Andrews Country Lodges at Balmullo, is running a raffle to help in the fund raising – giving away a 3 night stay in one of his lodges – for up to six people. A break that is worth up to £1,200. Tickets for the raffle are just £15 and 100% of all proceeds go to the charity.

Stephen says: “The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation means a great deal to so many across Scotland and beyond. The charity’s work in memory of the late and great Doddie Weir does amazing work in helping to raise awareness of MND and to support those affected by it.” He adds: “This is a big challenge but the small part I am playing is just a cog in the wheel of the charity’s efforts. I hope folk can help to support it by entering the raffle.

Four nations …

The route takes in four nations – to Melrose in the Borders, into England and through Leeds, south to Gloucester, across South Wales and then an overnight ferry to Rosslare – finally arriving in Dublin on Friday 13th March.

For the second year, Stephen is cycling with the Specsavers Dundee Team who are undertaking their 3rd Doddie Foundation cycle event.

Can you help?

To raise funds, Stephen invites team donations as well as the raffle to win a break at the lodges.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for just £15 each with 100% of proceeds going to the Doddie Foundation.
