An open celebration …
St James’s Church on St Catherine Street has continued its tradition of opening its doors on the third Saturday of the month for a musical event – their “Cupar Market Concerts”.
On the third Saturday of September, their traditional “Music Marathon” filled most of the day – a community event featuring performances by 40 musicians that welcomed 60 visitors to the church.
The first musical offering was from Chris Bragg from St Andrews University, one of St James’ organists, playing the Church’s organ. His performance included music by Bach and Widor.
Other performers in the morning were the Cupalele Group (below), the ‘2nd Edition’ String Quartet, and a Clarinet Duo.
Afternoon performances showcased local young people, starting with a family group, followed by the Classic Guitar Group, Sakura, and then the Cupar Youth Brass Band.
