Cupar Remembrance Services
Every year the nation unites to make sure that no-one is forgotten, and to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.
Cupar British Legion extends an invitation to all interested parties, to attend a Remembrance Service being held on Sunday 13th November 2022, at Cupar Memorial at 10.30am.
It is hoped, as in previous years, that there will be a parade from the Fluthers Car Park to the War Memorial.
Uniformed bodies should assemble in the Fluthers Car Park at 10.15am, under Parade Marshall Richard Anderson. Other parties should assemble at the War Memorial in time for the start of the Service and disperse under their own arrangement thereafter.
It would be appreciated if those parties who wish to lay a wreath, could form up to the front right of the War Memorial and will be called forward in turn to lay their wreath.
Eleventh of the eleventh …
In addition, members of the Legion will be holding a small Service in the Garden of Remembrance, St John’s Church Cupar on Friday 11th November 2022, beginning at 10.45am. Members of the public are invited to attend. Wooden crosses are available for purchase at the church gates.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Thank you …
Thanks to The British Red Cross shop on Bonnygate and Couper Carpets on Crossgate for their wonderful window displays during the countdown to this weekend’s remembrance.
