Community in the market place!
Community groups across Cupar and district are being invited to take advantage of a new programme being delivered by CuparNow. In partnership with Fife Farmers’ Market, CuparNow is sponsoring a community stall at each market in the year ahead … and groups are invited to apply to have a slot to help in their own fund raising and promotional activities.
Andrew Thomson, Chair of CuparNow’s steering group, explains: “We support a number of community projects each year – from charities and good causes – all enabled by businesses who contribute to our work. In 2021, we launched a Community Directory that helps to promote more than 85 groups, clubs and societies across the town. We saw a number of groups get involved in Cupar’s Celebration Weekend in September – taking stalls at the market that proved a very popular move – and that gave us the idea.” Andrew adds: “We will be funding a stall at each of the market’s from February until the end of the year and invite groups to get in touch so they can benefit from this community initiative.”
Natasha Skinner of the Market welcomes the initiative, saying: “Fife Farmers’ Market is delighted to be a part of Cupar. The town has a fantastic community spirit and is always so welcoming to our traders. We’re thrilled to be working with CuparNow to create a regular community stall that will enable local groups and charities to showcase their work and give them the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their causes.”
Interested?
Any community group or collection of groups who are interested can get in touch to add their organisations’ names to the list. There may be months that work best for some, so allocation of months will take that into account and groups are asked to choose a preferred month to help with the allocation process.
Please use this link to email CuparNow – giving the following information in your email:
- Your name
- Your group’s name – be it a Club, Society or Charity
- Your phone number
- Why your organisation would like to be included
- Your preferred month
- Whether or not you’d be prepared to share a stall with another organisation: we know some groups already work together, so would be happy to accommodate partnerships.
- By applying, you agree to adhere to the Market’s terms and conditions of use.
Please ensure you have emailed by Friday 28th January: applications will be checked as soon as possible and all will be notified in early February regarding the allocation on months. The first community stall will be when the Market comes to town on Saturday 19th February.
