Gathering of Societies 2021
Cupar’s first Gathering of Societies took place at the weekend with more than 20 community groups taking part … a huge thank you to the organisers, Rotary Club of Cupar and the Cupar & District Community Council for creating this unique event.
We visited at the outset and created a short video before the gathering started. That video can be viewed via our Facebook page.
Gina Logan, Chair of the Cupar & District Community Council thanked all who attended adding: “Cupar has a lot to offer and this was a great opportunity to tell people about what goes on in the town.” She added: “As Chairman of the Community Council I enjoyed meeting people and finding out what they want in the town. Hopefully we can build on this, and it can be bigger and better next time.“
Here is just a snapshot of the day …
The societies attending – over and above the organisers – included Cupar Arts, Cupar Curling Club, Cupar in Bloom, Cupar Beginners Brass, Fife Folk Museum, Cupar and Howe of Fife Twinning Association, 10th fife 1st Cupar Monday Scouts ( blowtorch troop ), Cupar Museum and Heritage Centre – Fife, Cupalele – Cupar U3A Ukes, Sustainable Cupar, Cupar Amateur Musical Society (CAMS), Cupar Development Trust, Central and North Fife Preservation Society, Yvonne Gray Dance Studios, Cupar & District Model Railway Club, Cupar Old Parish Church, Falkland & District Historical Society and Cupar Baptist Church.
