Walk the Walk
Fife Council is developing an Active Travel Strategy and Action Plan (ATSAP) … and one of the first projects being delivered will see improvements to pavements on Cupar’s Kirk Wynd and Crossgate junction, meeting the requests made by residents in the Local Place Plan.
Active travel refers to “people-powered transport: walking, wheeling (such as wheelchairs, scooters, prams and buggies) and cycling” …and the Kirk Wynd/ Crossgate junction will see a raised table to provide for smoother and safer access and use.
The table is being provided in response to community requests made in the Local Place Plan, delivered by Cupar Development Trust. The update from the council tells us: “It will help pedestrians in the Crossgate shopping area. The table will be formed using bituminous material.” A copy of the design drawing is shared below.
