We Will Remember Them

Every year the nation unites to make sure that no-one is forgotten and to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom. After a year’s unavoidable absence, the Cupar Branch of The Royal British Legion Scotland are pleased to extend an invitation to all, to attend a Remembrance Service being held on Sunday 14th November 2021 at Cupar War Memorial.

Chair of the Cupar branch, Joe Preece, says: “Owing to a number of factors, there will be no marching parade from the Fluthers Car Park to the War Memorial this year.” Joe adds: “The road will be closed at 10:30am. Uniformed bodies and other parties are invited to assemble at the War Memorial. It would be very much appreciated that those who wish to lay a wreath could form up to the front right of the War Memorial where you will be called forward in turn to lay your wreath.

Legion members will be present to provide assistance and guidance as required.

Joe concludes: “We are aware that not everyone will be comfortable being around crowds. We would like to encourage people to ensure Remembrance Sunday is still marked appropriately, whether that be watching the service on television, or just the act of pausing for the two minute silence in your home or on your doorstep.

The gathering at Cupar’s War Memorial will mark the two minute silence at 11:00am.

Under the direction of the Parade Marshall, all will then disperse under their own arrangements.

We Will Remember Them.
