A Great Christmas Celebration
A full programme of festivities is planned this Christmas led by St James the Great, the Scottish Episcopal Church on Cupar’s St Catherine Street, and its partner church, St Mary’s Ladybank. And all are welcome!
This coming Saturday (20th), they join with all of Cupar’s churches for the ecumenical ‘Walk to the Manger‘ – this year’s event setting off from St James’ on St Catherine Street at 11am …

Carol Service
St James’ choir is in “full preparation mode” for their Carol Service, which will be held in the church at 1030 this Sunday (21st December).
The service – starting with a verse of ‘The Advent Carol Hymn‘, whose words were written by former Rector of St James The Great, the Reverend Anne Haselhurst – will include the traditional nine readings with well-known carols in between.
Some of the youngest members of the congregation will sing ‘Silent Night’, the choir will sing three special items – the first, ‘Advent Prose‘ in Plainsong, the second, a 16th century Welsh carol, ‘On To Bethlem‘ sung in English, and the third, ‘Torches!‘ – billed as “a more modern, lively carol” by John Joubert. There will be refreshments after the service.
Christmas Eve & Day
St James The Great will hold sung communion services on Christmas Eve (7:30pm) and on Christmas Day (10:30am).
Thank you for reading and please feel free to share with all who may be interested.
