Community Buildings Healthcheck
Own or manage a property or premises for your community group, business or church? Here’s an invitation to Sustainable Buildings, an event at Cupar’s Old Parish Centre on Tuesday 18th November.
The event – being run by Greener Kirkcaldy – will cover how to get the most out of heating systems for community buildings together with help on grants and advice for improving energy efficiency and retrofitting.
It is a chance for people to get practical, impartial advice and ask questions about their own buildings.
Who should come?
Anyone trying to reduce their energy costs or make their buildings fit-for-purpose or sustainable, whether you own the building or rent it. It will also be useful for groups considering taking on the ownership of a building or church.
At the event you will be introduced to the HeatHack programme through games and activities.
- You will gain an understanding of how to save energy and heat in your community spaces.
- You will learn about both immediate and future changes you can make to your building and how it is heated.
HeatHack’s founder will explain the programme’s key learning points and answer any questions you have about what they mean for you.
It will help you understand the right action for your building and give you the concepts you need to get the best service from the professionals.
You will be able to start a high-level plan that covers everything from checking the heating controls are fit for purpose to undertaking a full building retrofit and includes ensuring the spaces suit local community needs.
What’s the catch?
There is none! All the materials used are freely available online via this link for you to use in whatever way makes most sense for you.
