Tomorrow’s workforce …

We are proud to work with and support more than 400 businesses and organisations across the town. Increasingly, our work also supports numerous community groups and activities – 88 now featuring on our Community Directory. In recent discussions with DYW Fife and Bell Baxter High School, we have discussed how tomorrow’s workforce can best engage with businesses and community groups. Our latest podcast covers Developing the Young Workforce’s work – and highlights an upcoming event where you can discover more …

On Thursday 25th August, we are hosting a business breakfast at Castlehill Community Centre in partnership with ABCD, the town’s Business Association, together with DYW Fife (Developing the Young Workforce) and Fife Chamber.

Representatives from DYW will include Amanda Liddell, Business Engagement Executive, and Forbes Walker, the newly appointed DYW & Employability Coordinator at Bell Baxter High School. Amanda and Forbes feature on our latest podcast that you can access by clicking on the image below …

Bringing home the bacon …

As part of our support for the town’s businesses, we created a Jobs alert on our Blog where employers can post opportunities. Once checked, they are posted live and shared on our channels. We can see from our Analytics’ tracking that many are using the links to find more.

The upcoming event is billed as a ‘business‘ breakfast, but we are aware of community groups and organisations across Cupar who need not only new members to help in their running but also volunteers to help in their delivery. And so all are welcome to find out how they can best engage with Cupar’s youngsters … from volunteering and work experience, to internships and training as well as part and full time employment opportunities.

Please register …

We are trying to gauge numbers for the event to manage the venue’s requirements. We’d like to provide attendees with a tea/coffee and bacon roll on arrival so please ensure you register as only those who have done so will receive a roll! You can do so by clicking on the image below to sign-up via Eventbrite.

If the event proves popular, we will look to repeat later in the year.

Thanks for reading.
