Graduate Apprentice Opportunity

Cunningham Grant Chartered Accountants are a “progressive practice” at The Granary in Cupar – and they are on the lookout fora Graduate Apprentice RGU-ICAS.

The firm reports a growing client base throughout the country, ranging from “individuals and family businesses to professional partnerships and commercial companies“.

What to expect?

We offer a high level of client and partner contact to create an interesting and varied training experience. You will be exposed to all aspects and areas of accounting and gain experience in both direct and indirect taxation.  You will be able to develop your technical skills in accounting and taxation, as well as your soft skills of communication and team work.

Training

The graduate apprenticeship is an accredited work-based learning programme combining an honours degree from RGU with the globally recognised ICAS Chartered Accountant qualification over a five-year period.

Mainly completed through supported online learning and some in-person university days, the academic study is combined with the practical experience you will obtain from working in the office whilst being supported by your mentor.

This role is for someone looking to obtain a degree along with becoming an ICAS Chartered Accountant – whilst working with the Cupar firm.

Entry requirements …

SQA Highers – 4 at B grade or above.

RGU will also welcome applications from those with equivalent qualifications or work experience which equip them with an equivalent starting point for the course. For those applicants who do not meet their Standard Course Entry Requirements, applications may be considered from those who possess one year’s relevant work experience and where the applicant has demonstrated the development of key skills evidenced through a detailed CV.

Applications from students with non-standard qualifications (including Foundation Apprenticeships, Modern Apprenticeships, SVQs/NVQs and access programmes) or work experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Closing date and start date …

30th of April: the role will start late August 2023 and the course will commence at the beginning of September this year.

You will be offered a competitive salary which will be based on age and experience. In addition, the firm supports their trainees throughout with regular internal and external training courses to help trainees develop their skills and remain abreast of changes in legislation.
