CuparNow KnowHow – Nourish Cupar

We love to showcase local businesses on our pages – highlighting the skills and know-how that help to make them what they are. The latest? Anyone who has been on Cupar’s Crossgate in the last few months is likely to have spied Nourish Cupar, the new day-time takeaway that is offering “healthier food and drink options“.

Opened in July, Nourish has become a go-to place for many – especially at the start of the working day when it announced it would be opening to help serve early customers – especially those arriving to work in businesses that are close by.

The cafe is the brainchild and passion of owner, Tracey Pedder. Tracey says: “I had an interest in health, fitness and nutrition, and saw a gap in the market. I wanted to provide a service that offered healthier options for breakfast, brunch and lunch in Cupar.” And the takeaway is very much about being a part of the community. Nourish works in partnership with local organisations and offers discounts for people who attend local gym facilities as well as extending the same to NHS staff.

Their “low priced menu” includes “nutritious breakfasts, various healthier lunch options, delicious smoothies and – as life is about balance – there are some amazing sweet treats included to complement the hot drinks menu and Nourish’ Roasting Project coffee.

The takeaway has three employees (pictured above) – Tracey (centre), one full-time chef(Lucy Spendlow) and and one part-time assistant (Kenzie) for whom they aim to provide a chef apprenticeship.

Open from 8am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, they also offer a pre-order service as well as the facility for outside catering for local business and events.

Tracey says that through her previous work and personal life, she became ever-more aware of the importance of the benefits of a good diet and she is determined to ensure Nourish follows that mantra – to provide healthier dietary options with “freshly made delicious food.” In doing so she is “realising the dream of having my own business and enjoying the positive feedback from our local community“.

Finally, we ask all featuring on our Blog what they’d recommend to someone visiting Cupar for the first time, or for the first time in a long time. Tracey says: “Take time to explore this quaint, historic market town and to discover the variety of interesting shops and venues.”
