B&M store is open!

The long-awaited B&M store on Cupar’s retail park is open … a day earlier than planned! The launch of the new store will create more than 50 jobs.

The discount retailer has issued a media release saying: “Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, baby food and pet food.  There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.” The new store will also boast its own garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening essentials.

A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

The store joins Burger King, Costa Coffee and Indigo Sun who are already open and trading on the South Road retail park. Nimbus Beds and Baynes Bakery are due to open soon.

B&M is a short five minute walk from the town’s station and Heritage Centre. You can catch the number 64 bus from West Port towards St Andrews, alighting after three minutes at the Tesco Supermarket stop – with a short walk back to the park. There is also free parking on site.

Community Support

The team at B&M’s new store were asked to nominate a local charity to receive “some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community“. They chose The Cupar Food Bank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store …

The Food Bank provides emergency food parcels for people and families in crisis. Alongside food, they also include toiletries, household cleaning products, baby/infants supplies and pet food. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of local volunteers and donors, they are able to help many people who find themselves in unplanned crisis situations.

Joe Preece, manager of Cupar’s Food Bank, welcomes B&M’s donation saying: “We are very lucky to have such a supportive business community in Cupar and we are thrilled that B&M’s team has chosen us as their opening charity. Their donation will go towards our work helping to deliver much-needed help to those who most need it in and around the town.

In addition to opening the store, the Food Bank will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers which will go towards helping the charity to continue doing the great work they do.

The store manager said: “Cupar Food Bank really stood out for us so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done, especially during the pandemic. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work.

Available space …

The retail park opened in 2021. The blog piece we published last Spring was the most read feature of the year showing the appetite for news on the new openings … and the job opportunities they have created. Once the final signings open, just two more units are available.

If that’s of interest, please contact the agents feature on the site’s board …
