CuparNow KnowHow – Realm Chiropractic

The last two years – more than ever – have shone a light on the need for everyone to look after themselves. Cupar has a wealth of health and well-being professionals and practices and, for our latest KnowHow feature, we caught up with Dr of Chiropractic, Jonathan Liu of Realm Chiropractic

Jonathan has been a chiropractor in Cupar for almost ten years: “Originally, I was helping to cover a practice but I enjoyed it in Cupar so much that I’ve stayed for a decade!” His own practice – Realm Chiropractic on Crossgate – opened three years ago. Today, it has a team of five employees “and growing” as their popular classes return to their in-house studio space.

Jonathan talks through Realm’s USPs, saying: “We have a unique focus called ‘Structural Correction’, where we use precise analysis of objective measures to create foundational changes to your body that are measurable and at a much deeper level.” Jonathan adds: “Once this correction has been achieved, we look to reassess the indicators, then we offer people longer term strategies to protect these corrections including deep tissue massage, yoga & tai chi.” The goal, Jonathan explains, is to create “long lasting improvements for greater health and well-being.

The practice – in the heart of town on Crossgate – has therapy rooms for deep tissue and sport massages and also includes a beautifully refurbished studio where they operate their yoga and tai-chi classes.

We asked Jonathan what he’d say were his greatest achievements: “Apart from being the best uncle in the world!? Trying my utmost to leave people better than I found them, physically, spiritually, intellectually and energetically.

And when it comes to physical and spiritual well-being, Jonathan has his own escapes: below, a shot of Jonathan on one of his favourite pastimes – hill walking – snapped at Càrn Mòr Dearg, the ninth-highest mountain in Scotland close to Fort William.

Finally, we ask all featuring on our Blog, what they would recommend to someone visiting Cupar for the first time, or for the first time in a long time. Jonathan says: “Immerse yourself in the history of this significant market town, look beyond the facade and connect with the good people and the wholesome vibe that sees several generations of the same family both grow up and return to have their own kids here!
