CuparNow KnowHow – Blossom

We love profiling businesses in Cupar and the latest in our KnowHow series focuses on Wendy Kiki Laura Cassells at Blossom – the beauty salon on Crossgate.

Wendy started the salon 13 years ago – opening in June 2008. What led her to open? “I used to work as a senior therapist at the Kohler Waters Spa based in the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews.” She adds: “I have two children and they were young at the time, so the hours made it quite a juggle. I took a huge leap of faith and opened my own salon.

She hasn’t looked back! Wendy says it has given her “more of a balance” in her life.

Her salon is at 66 Crossgate. Next to the New Century Chinese Restaurant and opposite Rollos and the Post Office, Wendy works with two colleagues: “The three of us are all self-employed HND-qualified beauty therapists and we work hard to keep our training up to date, ensuring we are in-line with the current beauty market.

Specialised

That dedication to training is “invaluable“. As Wendy explains: “Our qualifications have given us a wide range of skills specialising in the care of nails, skin and eyes.” She adds: “Our skills enable us to undertake specialised medical-grade skincare and we strive to ensure we deliver the highest quality care at very affordable prices.” All the products Blossom use are “top of the range” but their pricing policy “allows everyone to enjoy our services“.

Wendy “just loves” what she does. And she loves working in Cupar too. As with all who feature on our KnowHow blogs, we asked what Wendy would recommend to someone visiting Cupar for the first time – or for the first time in a long time: “Cupar has so much to offer … from many lovely eating places to great activities for children, such as a visit to the Cairnie Fruit Farm or a walk to the top of the Hill of Tarvit.
