Cupar Skatepark & Pumptrack Redevelopment

A community campaign has been launched to garner support for the redevelopment of the skatepark and pumptrack at Duffus Park …

Ben Kinnear – together with others at the park – has launched a petition and is asking all to back the plans. Ben explains: “We are in the process of setting up a Community Group to fundraise and refurbish Cupar’s existing skatepark and pumptrack at Duffus Park – and we need to demonstrate the demand.” Adding: “Skateparks and pumptracks are massive community assets and benefit the whole local area.

The facility in Duffus Park is in need of refurbishment – an upgrade will increase its appeal and use. Ben hopes that by showing the demand through the petition, they will be able to set up a community group that will create a feasibility study. “The study will show the need for the refurbishment before we start to fundraise. Our goal is to refurbish the skatepark and build a modern pumptrack on the site of the current dirt track.

Ben has already started the ball rolling – engaging with a number of the sport’s relevant governing bodies, the local council, Duffus Sports Hub, Cupar YMCA, local schools and businesses. He adds: “We hope the improved facility will appeal to and be well used by a wide variety of activities and all ages & abilities.

Public Meeting

The Group are publishing plans soon for a public meeting that will help them to form a committee – to move the project forward. They are particularly keen to have representation from the kids that use the park regularly who might want to be part of the committee. We will share more on this when available.
