Cupar Businesses reach Finals of Scotland’s Business Awards
Cupar businesses are celebrating having learnt that they have reached the finals of the Scotlands Business Awards for Fife.
Scotlands Business Awards has 15 regional qualifying stages then an annual Grand Final. Each business who reaches the Regional Finals has been nominated by the public.’? Nominations are open all year round to encourage people to put forward businesses for consideration. There is no restriction placed on who or what kind of business may be nominated because the regional teams will visit the business before any final decision is made.
Any member of the public can vote for the business but it is only one factor. The are also some businesses where voting or asking customers to vote is simply not appropriate. So of greater importance are the mystery shopper visits and the judging team’s own visits to the business.’? During this stage, the judging team are looking at how easy is it for customers to contact or meet the managers, opening hours, availability and presentation of the business premises. Home based businesses are also considered and have their own category. The visits are made by the judging team who will introduce themselves. There is also a Mystery Shopper element.’? Mystery shoppers can phone and make internet and facebook enquiries to test some of the customer experience. Some can call in to test the products and services.’? The final decision is made based on a combination of nominations, mystery shopping and the personal visit.
