CuparNow in the news …

We were delighted to welcome Michael Matheson MSP to the official launch of the CuparNow project (Wednesday 26th September 2018). Michael attended a brief presentation before heading into the town on a walkabout to meet with businesses and see how the unique digital programme is to be deployed …

The presentation at Fife Voluntary Action was delivered by Simon Baldwin of Destination66. Attending were the Minister, representatives of his team, Scotland’s Towns Partnership, officers from Fife Council as well as Stephen Gethins MP, Councillor Karen Marjoram and Councillor Tony Miklinski – Cupar Ward.

The walkabout was led by Richard Watson of Rapier Systems Ltd who explained how a meshed network of free public realm Wi-Fi is to be delivered as a foundation of integrated digital communication that will support multiple audiences through a variety of digital channels including a new Blog, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Together, Simon & Richard run Destination Digital Ltd, the company that is delivering the CuparNow project. Simon’s presentation ran through the work undertaken by them on Scotland’s Digital Towns Programme 2017-18, that led to the proposal for a new improvement district model. The CuparNow initiative adopts the model and is being run as a proof of concept.
