Cupar’s Food & Drink Trail

Launching as part of Cupar’s Celebration Weekend 2021 is The Cupar Food & Drink Trail – one of a series of trails being created to showcase Food & Drink across north east Fife.

The Trail is a taster, giving residents and visitors a snapshot: cafes, coffee shops and tea rooms, bistros & restaurants, takeaway treats – the town’s pubs as well as all the food & drink shopping that’s available – bakeries and butchers, deli produce, grocers, cheese and fishmongers, off licence and convenience stores as well as our supermarkets.

It also covers community projects that are food focused – from those supporting the most vulnerable to waste-saving initiatives.

Each business is mapped – and the site enables users to filter their searches … by producer or retailer, by speciality as well as by venue type.

As well as a great source of information, the project will also help to promote special events and activities run by local food and drink businesses – such as The Courtyard Restaurant’s Oktoberfest

The project is delivered by Cupar’s Development Trust (CDT) who sought funding from the Regional Food Fund earlier this year. Working in partnership with stakeholders, The Cupar Trail is the first of seven that are being created to showcase all that north east Fife has to offer.

Bill Pagan, Chair of CDT Cupar, says: “Cupar is steeped in medieval history and we are celebrating our history and heritage this weekend. But the town is much more. It is a 21st century market town with an abundance of fabulous food & drink businesses, not only in the town but right across our entire catchment … Cupar’s equivalent ‘terroir’ that makes our offering unique.

Get involved …

Bill adds: “We would urge all food & drink businesses to engage with the project. The more who become actively involved, the greater the benefits can be delivered for all.” To that end, the site has a feedback questionnaire for any business featured – or any business that thinks they should be!
